When studying forestry, it becomes evident that no two forests are the same. In this presentation, we examine the different forest ecosystems (i.e., boreal, temperate deciduous, temperate coniferous, temperate mixed, temperate broad-leaved evergreen and tropical evergreen) which exist throughout the world and explore the benefits each provides. Also defined are niche and carrying capacity, relating the impact of both to the ecosystem. The relationship between wildlife and its habitat is discussed and endangered forest species, such as the mountain lion, bald eagle, black bear, redwood tree, guagara palm and giant sequoia, are identified.
